Bell and Cohere have unveiled a cybersecurity large language model built for Bell Cyber’s security operations, MobileSyrup reports. It was announced at Bell’s Cybersecurity Summit in Toronto.

Unlike a general chatbot, it’s a domain-specific model. It’s built on Cohere’s enterprise AI and trained on Bell Cyber’s own data and operational knowledge. It’s designed to:

  • summarize complex security information and surface what matters for an investigation
  • support standardized investigation workflows
  • cut the time analysts spend gathering and interpreting data

It’s being integrated into Bell Cyber’s Autonomous Security Operations Centre, which already uses AI and automation to detect, prioritize and contain threats. Bell says the approach keeps “analysts in control of consequential decisions.”

The partnership dates to July 2025. Cohere has since combined with German AI company Aleph Alpha.

Why it matters: It’s a working example of the “sovereign AI” pitch: a Canadian model provider and a Canadian carrier building a specialized tool on Canadian data. For Bell’s business customers, faster threat triage is the selling point. For Cohere, it’s proof it can win specialized enterprise work rather than competing head-on with general chatbots.
